{ DREAM ON speaks }

It started off as something ridiculous. Two friends decided to compile a mini album for charity. Due to financial constraints, they did the voice recording on the computer, and planned to replicate 100 copies of the so called album using a CD writer. They started talking to people about it but apparently no one would even buy it for $5. Not even for charity.

And then Mr Terence Quek came into the picture. The punch line was “Don’t let your resources restrict your goal” It was then that we began to Dream On. From 100 copies to 1550 copies, from 1 track to 12 tracks, and we slowly blossomed! Drafts and drafts of proposal were written, and they were sent to companies in request for sponsorship. Tonnes of calls and what seemed like millions of emails were sent out, but the response was cold and the support was weak.

Then Mr Glenn Lim saved us. He taught us how to pitch our project, and even lent us drafts he did for his own project! Through his guidance, we matured and managed to get generous sponsorship from big companies such as Young NTUC and DXO.

Then the mad rush began! Deadlines, deadlines and deadlines. From full time students, we became part time sales managers, musicians and etc. Mind you, the oldest committee member we had on board is 19 years old and none of us had ever done anything on this scale before! Fortunately, we had Ms Phyllis Chng who gave us her undying support throughout the project. Without her, we may not have had the chance to pen this down. And of course, we wouldn’t have made it without all the help that we’ve gotten from different individuals and organizations. Thank you so much!

Along the way, we had people telling us that we were over ambitious, but what matters is, we did it! Whatever the outcome may be, we are just glad that we’ve pulled through all of that, all for a good cause! We hope that we have somewhat inspired you guys to Dream On - cos dreams don’t need reasons to live! We’ve walked the talk. Now its your turn to DREAM!
